Title: The love of God
(John 3:16-21) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”
God is love, His character is love, He created heaven and earth in love. It was because of His loving nature that He created us. After creation He didn’t just finished creating and left us unattended. He continues to show us love, nourishes us in love. It was out of love that He connected our relationship with Himself after the fall of man at the garden of eden . Sin disconnected us from Him but due to the kind of love He has with man, He didn’t want us to perpetually get disconnected from Him.
God’s love is everlasting, it is not temporary love, it has no condition attached to it. It does not expire, and it has no limit. God loves every human being He created. He is not a man, He does not love like we do. Some parents don’t love their children equally, they show partiality and favor to some of their kids and don’t do the same to the other ones. That is not God’s love. The Bible says He loves you so much that He gave His only begotten son, in that whoever, I mean whoever accepts Jesus as their Lord and savior will not perish but have eternal life. He gave His only son free of charge for the remission of our sins. (Psalm 136:1-2) Give Thanks to the Lord , for His love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever.
He gave His only begotten son to die for me and you. To show the magnitude of love He has for us. How do you appreciate God’s love? How do you respond to His call to come and inherit from this sacrifice of love that will lead to the salvation of your soul? Are you thankful for this sacrifice? How much do you appreciate this? If you keep showing someone love and has sacrificed so much to show your friend love, and he or she is not responding but keeps giving you nonchalant attitude, how would you feel? But God is patient with us, He is kind He is tolerance. May we receive the grace to return to Him and accept that sacrifice on the cross, so it shall be well with us in Jesus name.
Prayers: God thank you for your love on the cross of Calvary. Help me oh Lord to appreciate your love and show you love by worshiping and praising you and also testify to others about your love in our lives in Jesus name. Thank you Lord.
