C.A.C SUNDAY SCHOOL MANUAL FOR SEPTEMBER 12, 2021 LESSON FOUR/DIVISION TWO : TOPIC - WAYS TO GOD'S BLESSINGS

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON
(KINGDOM OF GOD FAMILY)
THEME: IN TIME LIKE THIS
UNIT ONE
MAN'S DISCONNECTION
Date
12th, September 2021.
Lesson: FOUR /DIVISION TWO
II. WAYS TO GOD'S BLESSINGS (Genesis 1:22; 12:3; Numbers 6:24-26; Deuteronomy 8:18; Psalms 04:27-30; Proverbs 10:22; Isaiah 1:18-20; Romans 4:3; Ephesians 4:28)
Silver and gold are His, and He gives them to whosoever He wills... By this, you should know that God is the Source of all blessings. So, by fearing and obeying Him, and realising that God loves and wants you blessed, then, you are on your way to unstoppable blessing.
A. THE LORD BLESSES HIS PEOPLE (Gen. 1:22; 12:3; Num. 6:24-26; Deut. 8:18; Psa. 104:27-30; Prov. 10:22)
The blessings of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it Prov. 10:22).
i. Gen. 1:22: God created and blessed him. All things that would be of great use to him, He had created before him. Thus, God did not create man for poverty and wretchedness.
ii. 12:3: God promises to bless the world through Abraham (cf. 13:1-6; 26:1-5,12-16; 32:1ff). The covenant of blessing extends to us today as the seed of Abraham by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ (Gal. 3:26-29; Heb. 13:5). Are you a child of God?
iii. Num. 6:24-26: The Lord bless you... shows God as the source of all blessings and good things (cf. Jas. 1:17). His blessing/wealth doesn't come with trouble (Prov. 10:22).
iv. Deut 8:18: God gives man the power to make lasting wealth. After all, He owns all, including wealth and honour (1 Chro. 29:11,12; Hag. 2:8).
v. Since poverty and penury come from the nefarious activities of Satan, his cohorts and sin (Gen. 3:1ff; Isa. 42:24-25; Lam. 3:39-46; Rev. 12:17), God blesses His people through His ministers (Num. 6:22ff; Phil. 4:19), loosening the bondage of poverty and restoring them to glory and blessings (Dan. 9:1-23; 1 Kgs. 17:11-16).
vi. Psa. 104:27-30: Undoubtedly, God is the source of our blessing and prosperity. Anyone who goes outside of Him is courting irreversible disaster and death, immediately and ultimately.
vii. Whatsoever we obtain by divine providence has God's blessing in it, and will do us good. Cares, troubles and difficulties come with the wealth/prosperity not acquired in His way. God blessing gives lasting joy, and levies no tax upon the comfort than to give our lives to Him wholeheartedly.
B. THE OBEDIENT RECEIVES DIVINE BLESSINGS (Psa. 104:28; Isa. 1:18-20; Rom. 4:3; Eph. 4:28)
For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat (2 Thess. 3:10).
i. Psa. 104:28a: As God gives, man must gather in --- work; diligence (Prov. 22:29). Isaac wasn't idle at Gerar in obedience to God's directive. No wonder he prospered exceedingly (Gen. 26:12ff).
ii. God doesn't bless the indolent, but man would receive God's blessing through his daily work (Gen. 26:12). An idle soul shall suffer hunger (Prov. 10:4; 13:4; 19:15). Work legitimately (2 Thess. 3:10).
iii. Isa. 1:18-20: Obedience to God totally yields prosperity (Job 36:11; Lk. 5:1-11). That helped Abraham. We can't continue in sin and be expecting God's true blessings (Deut. 28:1ff; Rom. 6:-2).
iv. Rom. 4:3: Abraham believed God to receive the promised blessings (Gen. 15:1ff), and was indeed prosperous in the real sense. Have faith in the covenant-keeping God who blesses (1 Chro. 29:11-12), and see positive turn around in your situations.
v. Eph. 4:28c: Generosity with cheerfulness is fundamental to divine blessing. Giving opens doors of blessing (Prov. 18:16; Phil. 4:14-19). Givers never lack (Prov. 11:24-25; 19:17; 21:13; 22:9; Acts 20:35; Gal. 6:9-10). Fully and regularly pay your tithes and give your offerings (Lev. 27:30-34; Mal. 3:7-12; Amos 4:4-12).
vi. Do your work with the fear of God (Psa. 111:10; Eccl. 12:13), do not steal, or defraud (Eph. 4:28a), be faithful at your work (Prov. 11:1; 12:22; 20:17; 28:20-22), and beware of bad company (Psa. 119:63; Prov. 21:17; 23:20-21; 1 Cor. 15:33).
vii. Furthermore, as God gives power to make wealth (Deut. 8:18) and blessings that makes rich (Prov. 19:22), we need His wisdom (Jas. 1:6) to properly harness these, through investments and savings, to convert the power and blessings to godly wealth, lest we be termed blessed Christians living in poverty. Take the case of some endowed nations still languishing in poverty.
viii. He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it" (Luke 11:28). The Lord's simple request (obedience) often serve as stepping stone to life's most wonderful blessing. Trust and obey; there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus, than to trust and obey...

LESSONS DERIVED
1. God is the source of blessing, upliftment and greatness (1 Chro. 29:11-12). He desires to bless His people without reservations.
2. Obedience to God is the surest way to blessing. He gives blessing, but expects man to faithfully, diligently and patiently gather in; no laziness.

QUESTIONS
1. Why the mad rush for wealth among both young and old, even in the church?
2. How can we enjoy God's blessings without cutting corners?

SUGGESTED ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS
ANSWER TO QUESTION 1:
i. Impatience: when we cannot wait for God's time termed the best.
ii. Lack of faith in God: when we believe God cannot do it or He is too slow for our liking to bless us.
iii. Forgetting that God is the Owner of all things including wealth/prosperity and that, He also promised us good success and wealth.
iv. Comparison: when we are comparing ourselves with the people of the world. There are two ways of obtaining wealth. Some people acquire riches without God's blessing which is faster, while some acquire riches by it. The god of the world gives riches to his subjects and God Himself gives riches to some who are His children. So when we compare ourselves with the world, the spirit of mad rush for wealth will set in.
v. Since both the godly and the godless have gotten wealth? It lies here that, God added no sorrow with it, but that other lord does.
vi. So cool down for God to bless you.

ANSWER TO QUESTION 2:

i. Wait on the Lord for His perfect wealth.
ii. Be skilful
iii. Be diligent
iv. Work hard
v. Invest a lot
vi. Be prayerful
vii. Be obedient
viii. Be a giver to God and men.
ix. Have the knowledge that whatever is out of God, is trouble, calamity and doom
* With all these, God will surely bless you abundantly without cutting corners.

LIFE APPLICATION

If you take to God counsels, and you acquire wealth, there will be no bitterness infused into your gains. But if you do otherwise, bitterness will be the order of the day. So, flee from the spirit of getting rich-quick disease affecting the world and imbibe the spirit of waiting on the Lord, and you will see that the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever.

CONCLUSION

Glory is to God for the knowledge derived from this lesson four. We've been made to know that rushing or cutting corners to be rich is dangerous and it kiils faster than cancer. Digest this story: A judge with a covetous heart is offered a bribe to fudge a widow's estate in probate. He make sure that the woman will get enough to live comfortably, but he interprets the will in the favour of his benefactor. He died just two years later from slow and painful brain cancer. His last thought: Why did I forget the judge of all judges (Ps. 68:5; Eccl 5:8)? In all your doings, don't forget the judge of all judges.
