September 11, 2021 New Generation Grace Ministry Devotional : Topic - Who are you In Christ?

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. Title:Who are you In Christ?

(1 Corinthians 12:12-27) (NIV) Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body,so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say,

“Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

Paul compares the body of Christ to a human body. Each part of the body plays a vital role for a complete function of the whole body. The whole part of the body shares the peace of the body when all the systems are functioning well and shares the pain when any of the systems is not functioning well. If you have tooth ache or ear ache you can feel the pain all over the body. I remember few years back, I had one of my fingers swollen and very painful, the pain was felt all over my body , I was like wow!! This little finger was inflamed and the whole body feeling the inflammation too? I was crying , the pain caused me to go to hospital. That was a localized pain , was felt all over the body.

All parts of the body are knitted together but serves different functions. Every part of the body is unique and important, they serve different purposes and not depending on each other to function. The parts of the body are different for a purpose and  must work together for human body to function appropriately. Christians must stay away from the following mistakes we make . ( 1) Showing off for whatever capacity the Lord uses them to serve the body of Christ, or (2) thinking that they have nothing to render to the body of Christ. We should use our gifts and talents to build up the body of Christ.

Find out what you are good at, how can you be used in the body of Christ to lift up the church. ? Do not say that you cannot preach the word of God because you are not an evangelist, or because you are not the pastor, prophet, elder , deaconess etc. find out your gift and use it to serve in the body of Christ. Just like the body has many parts with all of them serving different functions so is everyone of us is in the house of God. If we think that because we are not pastors and we leave the work of God to suffer, then we are not doing the right thing.

The moment we become born again, the Holy Spirit takes over your life, and we are born into the family of God. As members of God’s family, we are given  different talents and gifts , but we are United by the spirit of God into one spiritual body. If you are not doing your own part to lift of the body of Christ, that your part will be deficient, the work of God will suffer. You have to understand that whatever you do in the house of God will attract reward, blessings. (Revelation 22:12-13) “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who are playing their parts very well in the body of Christ and they will not lose their reward,  but will be enjoying the blessings of the Lord here on earth and in heaven . God bless you.

Prayers: God please help me to fulfill my duties in the body of Christ. Help me to make myself available to be used to build your church in Jesus name. Amen.
