Topic: Seek knowledge and insight

Opening Prayer: Help me to understand the exceeding greatness of your power as I read through this passage, dear Lord.

Scripture: Proverbs 2:1–22

Reflection
• Is there any promise for me to believe or hope for?

Outline: Yesterday, we saw wisdom shouting and calling people to himself. The passage today encourages us to seek knowledge and insight as hard as we can (v.3) in order to reap the rewards of wisdom. What are the two other ways we are expected to look for wisdom in v.4?

When we have the right attitude towards wisdom, we will understand the fear of God; find knowledge (vv.5–6) and have victory and protection (vv.7–8, 11). What else will wisdom make us to understand as he indwells our hearts (vv.9–10)?

Walking in wisdom, just like walking with Jesus, also saves you from wicked men and their influence (vv.12–19, see Psalm 1:1). Making the right choice is never easy or smooth sailing. It usually requires some deliberate efforts. Here, it involves learning God’s word and remembering it (v.1) and having an attentive ear and an understanding heart (v.2). If you seek Him diligently, you will surely find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).

Marriage
Marriage is the coming together of a man and a woman legally in a one– flesh relationship. It is a unique relationship. Marriage institution is the only institution that was established before the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. God’s design is that marriage should be one man and one woman for life. The priority in marriage is that a Christian should marry only a Christian. The man and woman must be one spiritually to enable them produce godly offspring.

Prayer
• Please teach me to set my heart to seek after wisdom so I can enjoy her benefits.
• Pray for Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship and such others that run ministries to professionals.
• Offer a prayer of faith in line with Proverbs 3:5–6
