DAILY REFLECTION
SUNDAY 12TH APRIL, 2020 (EASTER SUNDAY)
THEME: RISEN IS OUR LORD
PASSAGE: Mark 16:1-8
A Pastor in Zimbabwe was unable to resurrect after telling his members to bury him alive! He had been called to their home in the village of Mazonde, Zimbabwe, to assist in cleansing their family house of evil spirits. According to a local newspaper, he asked his followers to bury him alive, so that he could summon more cleansing powers to heal the family that had earlier been plagued by mysterious deaths.
Can you believe that he helped to dig his own grave before praying and jumping inside? After laying face down in the grave, he ordered his followers to start covering him with soil. His aim was to be buried alive so that he would gain power to drive away the evil forces. However, the plan backfired on the prophet when instead of being resurrected as he supposed, the men dug up the grave again to find him dead.
We can never thank God enough for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Some religious leaders also claimed they would die and resurrect but never did. Only Jesus died and resurrected in history. No other religious leader did. Only Jesus rose from the grave to die no more!
Jesus has ascended to heaven and will come again to judge the world. The victory over death has been completely won through Him. Let us celebrate that victory this Easter Sunday and key into that victory in all aspects of our lives. Yes, Jesus gives us victory over death, sin, Satan, sickness, disease, poverty, demonic powers, anything and everything. Just key into it and you will win the battle. Whosoever keys into the power of resurrection, shall not partake in everlasting death, but live eternally.
