C.A.C Living Water Daily Devotional For April 21, 2024 : Title - THE OVERALL GIVER

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE

DATE : Sunday, April 21, 2024
(International Creativity & Innovation Day, National Tea Day, National Civil Services' Day)

TOPIC: THE OVERALL GIVER

READ Psalm 104:10-31

[10]. He sends the springs into the valleys; they flow among the hills.

[11]. They give drink to every beast of the field;

The wild donkeys quench their thirst.

[12]. By them the birds of the heavens have their home; they sing among the branches.

[13]. He waters the hills from His upper chambers; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.

[14]. He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and vegetation for the service of man,
that he may bring forth food from the earth,

[15]. And wine that makes glad the heart of man, Oil to make his face shine, and bread which strengthens man’s heart.

[16]. The trees of the Lord are full of sap, the cedars of Lebanon which He planted,

[17]. Where the birds make their nests; the stork has her home in the fir trees.

[18]. The high hills are for the wild goats; the cliffs are a refuge for the rock badgers.

[19]. He appointed the moon for seasons; the sun knows its going down.

[20]. You make darkness, and it is night, in which all the beasts of the forest creep about.

[21]. The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God.

[22]. When the sun rises, they gather together
and lie down in their dens.

[23]. Man goes out to his work and to his labor until the evening.

[24]. O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions—

[25]. This great and wide sea, in which are innumerable teeming things, living things both small and great.

[26]. There the ships sail about; there is that Leviathan which You have made to play there.

[27]. These all wait for You, that You may give them their food in due season.

[28]. What You give them they gather in; you open Your hand, they are filled with good.

[29]. You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.

[30]. You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the earth.

[31]. May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
May the Lord rejoice in His works.

MEMORISE

These all wait for You, that You, may give them their food in due season (Psalm 104:27).

EXPOSITION

People tend to show mixed reactions when asked to 'do' certain things for God. They raise such questions as, "Does anyone actually have anything to do for God?" "What do you think you really have to bless God with?" "Does He need our gifts and offerings to survive?" "What good do your tithes, which you refuse to pay do to Him?" Are they right? No. Assuming God needs food, the wealthiest in this world would monopolise Him! The less-privileged would not be able to meet up, for they would have nothing to give! However, God doesn't really receive anything from man, rather He is the One Who gives His all to all; every creature depends on Him for survival. Man has got nothing to offer God. It is a great privilege to be asked to support God's work as well as an opportunity to be blessed. We give what He gives us (1 Cor. 4:7). Everything around us, material and immaterial, emanates from Him. If He did make the earth that produces those things we claim to give to Him, where would we have got them from? We only discover the mineral resources He put there in the first place and refine them for our use. Hallelujah!

Therefore, on this National Tea, International Creativity and Innovation and National Civil Services' Day, it is good to reciprocate all He gives so that we can receive more. Mind you, when you give to your neighbour, you give to God indirectly, who would reward you. God Who could give us His only begotten Son would withhold nothing from us. He is worthy of our willing and cheerful giving!

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord Jesus, assist me to always remember and live by the fact that You own me and all that are mine.

2. Lord, help me to live by the consciousness that I am just a steward of Your resources, in Jesus' name.

3. Grant us the grace to appreciate and cherish everything You made for our survival.
