Anglican Bible study Study 44 For OCTOBER 30, 2022 : Topic - Integrity

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny.  Anglican Bible study Study 44 For OCTOBER 30, 2022 : Topic - Integrity

THEME: THE LORD GOD AND THE REIGN OF PEACE

SUB-THEME: Evidence of godly rule- 5

TOPIC: Integrity

TEXTS: Job 2:1-10

AIMS:

i. to explain Integrity from the Biblical perspective,
ii. to critically discuss the level of integrity that is exhibited by contemporary rulers and
iii. to teach the kind of integrity expected of Christians in leadership.

INTRODUCTION

“Integrity”, simply means, “the quality of being honest and having strong moral and spiritual principles. It is a state whereby someone is known for the principles he or she appraises with undivided loyalty”. Job, in our text today maintained the level of his integrity with God by not compromising in line with his wife’s advice. It is highly disgusting in our contemporary society to hear a leader or ruler saying or promising the masses of some goodies and for the promise never being fulfilled throughout the tenure. It is highly undignified to read a national budget for important areas of interest like Education, Health and Infrastructure and yet, the budget is never implemented. The study today will shed more light on this as we discuss further.

STUDY GUIDE

1. Define Integrity in the context of Job 2:3. How can you justify the strong spiritual principle of Job? Job 2:9-10

2. Analyze the contents of integrity as in Paul’s admonition to Titus in Tit 2:7-8.

3. Compare 1Sam 17:25 with 1Sam 18:17-19 and judge the integrity of King Saul. In the context of King Saul’s integrity, critically point out some of the failed promises of our contemporary political rulers at local, state, national, judicial, academic and health levels.

4. What should be the Christian standard for leaders or those in positions of power? Prov 28:6; Matt 5:37; Acts 5:29; Col 3:17

CONCLUSION

Our God will never promise a thing and fail His people. He is also looking for a ruler after His own heart in religious, political, academic and social circle; who will rule His people with His fear. For any nation or society to enjoy peace and prosperity, there is need for godly rulers who rule with integrity.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Rulers who lie to the people demolish their own integrity.

MEMORY VERSE: Prov 28:6 “Better is a poor person who walks in his integrity than one who is crooked in speech and is a fool”.
