CAC LIVING WATER DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR MAY 12, 2022 : TOPIC - WHO "DASH" MONKEY BANANA? (1)

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. WHO "DASH" MONKEY BANANA? (1)
READ 1 CORINTHIANS 4V1-7

1 KJV:Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2 KJV:Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
3 KJV:But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
4 KJV:For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
5 KJV:Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
6 KJV:And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
7 KJV:For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

Memorise: KJV:John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
(John 3v27)

Exposition
Today and tomorrow are devoted to discussing the survival strategies for birds. It isn't out of place to discuss something relating to an animal like monkey that is also fond of jumping around. Monkey is known to be highly skilful in climbing trees. In fact, it is always an entertaining and exciting scene to watch a monkey, or group of monkeys climb trees. However, the monkey can effortlessly climb all kinds of tree, expect the banana tree. It then becomes a surprise, because banana is the monkeys best food. What this implies is that anytime you see banana with a monkey it was given (dashed). That is the origin of the popular saying, Who "dash" monkey banana?

The monkey, whose favourite delicacy is banana, yet cannot climb it's tree to get it. How then should the monkey be boastful of possessing a bunch of banana at any given time? This is what Apostle Paul was referring to in 1 CORINTHIANS 4v7. How dare you boast as if you got that achievement, position, wealth, success, prosperity, etc. by your own efforts, when actually you were helped by God? (Eph.2v9) All the monkeys gymnastic and scaffolding skills can never fetch it's special delicacy (banana), it must be given by someone else.

What then is the basis for your proud and boastful lifestyle? What level have you attained that has made you unadvisable and uncontrollable? You use your position, power, authority, wealthy, office and success to oppress and intimidate others as if you got there by your own efforts. Remember, God placed you there by His mercy, not by your merit. What if the monkey does not come across anyone who is willing enough to give it the banana it desires? How then has the banana become a tool for pride, oppression and intimidation of others in the hands of the monkey? Beware, because you were privileged (Jn.3v27, cf.Jas.1v17)!

Prayer points
1. Lord, please help me to always acknowledge You as the Giver of all good things in Jesus name.
2. You Spirit of pride, ego, oppression, and intimidation of others get out of my life, now!
3. Pray for CAC Odusona Region, our father in the Lord, the Superintendent, and it's officers at the various levels, as led by the spirit of God.
