Title: Jesus’ Commissioned Us
(Matthew 28:18-20) 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Our Heavenly Father has given Jesus authority over heaven and earth. On the basis of that authority, Jesus told His disciples to make more disciples as they preached, baptized, and taught. With this same authority, Jesus still commands us to tell others the good news and make them disciples for His kingdom. We are the disciples of today. Someone preached to you before you came to Christ. Maybe you heard the gospel from the radio, TV, or in the church or through your colleagues. Someone somewhere allowed God to use him or her to get the gospel to you. How have you tried to reach others with the gospel of our Lord Jesus.?
Many of us are going about rejoicing and thanking God that we have been saved, but we are not interested to allow God to use us to reach our neighbors, fellow workers, our families. Jesus gave His life for the whole world, He does not want anyone to perish. He has done His own job and gone to heaven. The rest of the work rest on our shoulder. Look at the world is perishing Wickedness all over the earth, how can we make a difference in our world with the gospel?. (Matthew 10:32) “Everyone who acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my father in heaven.
He promised that if we confess Him before others, He will confess us before His Heavenly Father. Today are we not afraid of telling others that we have been save? Let us not be afraid, He also promised to be with us to the very end of this age. God is faithful, this great commission is an obligation, we don’t just pick and choose to preach the gospel or not. We cannot just say that we can’t preach because we are not evangelists. This is something we must do to please God, and let us continue to ask God to give us the boldness to do the work in Jesus name.
Prayers: Father help me not to be afraid to acknowledge your goodness and mercy to others in Jesus name. Use me oh, Lord to draw souls to your kingdom in Jesus name. Use me to bless my family and my community in Jesus name.
