May 3, 2021 CAC Living Water Devotional : Topic - LET YOUR WORDS BE FEW.

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. (World Press Freedom Day)

TOPIC - LET YOUR WORDS BE FEW.

Read James 3:1-12.

MEMORISE: He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of a calm spirit (Proverbs 17:27)

EXPOSITION

Our spoken words carry two forces. This is worth nothing and discussing as the world celebrates the Press Freedom Day. There are death and life in the power of the tongue. Our spoken words carry one of these two forces - death and life - at a time, judging by the way we select our words and spare them (Prov.  18:21).

We should let our words be few for the following reasons: Respect is lost when words are many. We weigh people by their words (Prov. 17:27). If you want to know the level of wisdom and understanding of a person, listen to his words. Wise people carefully select their words  when they speak. They use words with restraint before other people. A truly wise person uses few words. (Prov. 17:28) Those  who know much say little and  those who know little say much. It is an empty barrel that makes the most sound. Too much talking can result in sin. The Scripture says, In the multitude of words sin in not lacking, but he who restraints his lips is wise (Prov. 10:19). Wise people do not talk any how in order not to commit themselves. As the Scripture says, If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body (James 3:2). When you sin with your words, you lose authority of prayer (Jas. 3:9-12). You can endanger your life by many words. You keep your soul from trouble, if you know how to guard your mouth and tongue (Prov. 21:23)

According to the Word of God, if you guard your mouth, you preserve your life. But if you open your mouth too much, you will have destruction (Prov. 13:3). To round it up, let's cultivate the idea of thinking twice before we speak out (Prov. 29:20) Don't forget that your words carry power. Let your words be few.

PRAYER POINT:

1. Father, give me capacity to always tame my tongue.

2. I pray my tongue should not put me into danger in Jesus name.

3. Lord, help  our people in ministry of intercession to let their  words be few in public, for them to maintain their authority of prayer.
