Title: Jesus said it is finished on the Cross.
(John 19:28-30) Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. When He had received the drink, Jesus said “It is finished.” With that, He bowed His head and gave up His Spirit.
Before Christ came, there were some kind of complicated sacrifices, made by the Old Testament priests to atone for the sins of the people then. Sin causes separation between man and God, and only through the blood of the shed animals , that substitute was used to sacrifice to the Lord for the forgiveness of sins at that time.
As we know human beings are continuously living in sins, these animals were consistently been used to make the sacrifice, so frequent sacrifices were needed, then Jesus became the final and ultimate sacrifice for sin. The word translated finished also means paid in full. Jesus came to finish God’s work of salvation on the cross. He has paid for the penalty for our sins in full. Those who now has accepted the Lord as their Lord and savior, those who believe on His death and resurrection can live eternally with God and escape the punishment that comes from sin.
When He made that cry on the cross it was a cry of victory, it was a triumphant cry, that what he came to do has been finished, that He was done, all is accomplished. Nothing remains undone. He has fulfilled His purpose, His mission.
All our sins are forgiven us , they are wiped away by the blood of Jesus. Jesus pronounced that on the cross, our sins are finished, our problems are finished, our poverty is finished . Whenever I am having any problems and remember this word Jesus shouted on the cross, “it is finished “ believe me that will be the end of that problem. Many times I have repeated that word in many situations, Jesus said it is finished on the cross, including this sickness, call out whatever it is and say, Jesus Christ said it is finished on the cross including you. It really works . This is so deep and it carries a lot of power.
Child of God, begin to command that your stubborn problem by the power that is in the blood of Jesus all your sins are finished, your sickness are finished all kinds of problems are finished on the cross in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
Prayers: Thank You Lord for finishing the work of God on the cross for my salvation. My sins are forgiven, by your stripes am healed, it is finished on the cross for me in Jesus Mighty name. I have victory over principalities and powers. Thank you Jesus.
