Anglican School Sunday School Manual For October 18, 2020 : Topic - Power over Sickness

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. "See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you ."

TEXTS: Luke 4:16-20.

i. to identify various forms of sicknesses,

ii. to teach that only Jesus Christ can heal without a price tag and

iii. to teach the conditions for healing through Jesus Christ.

INTRODUCTION: As the Messiah of the world, Jesus was anointed to console and set at

liberty those who are deeply afflicted, or whose hearts are broken by external calamities

or by a sense of their sinfulness. Unlike the earthly physician, Jesus never collected any

money or ransom for the various physical and spiritual healings He performed while on

earth. However certain conditions have to be met before anyone can receive this grace of

freedom from Christ.

STUDY GUIDE/QUESTIONS:

1. From these Bible passages: 2Kings 5:1; 13:14; Matt 9:2, 20; Mark 5:2-5 explain the

various types of sicknesses mentioned in the Bible.

2. According to John 4:18-19, describe the purpose of Jesus Christ as the Messiah of

the world. Mention anywhere in the Bible where Jesus collected money or ransom for

healing the sick. Ref: Matt 8:4; Mark 1:44; 5:41-43

3. What are some of the conditions a sick person needs to fulfil before he or she can be

miraculously healed through the power in the name of Jesus Christ? Matt 11:28-30;

Mark 5:25, 26-28; John 5:14.

4. What difference are here between healing by the power in the name of Jesus Christ

and that done with earthly means or by other people, in the contemporary world. Mark

5:25-29.

CONCLUSION: “The Word” was with God in the beginning when man and woman were

created in the most perfect image of God, without any form of sickness. With the

contagious spiritual sickness of sinfulness, physical sickness entered human lives. Only

Jesus Christ can heal these without any strings.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Only the power that creates man can heal physical and

spiritual sicknesses.
