September 14, 2020 CAC Living Water Devotional :- MIRAGE OR MARRIAGE?

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. MIRAGE OR MARRIAGE?

Read: Exodus 2:1; Luke 1:5-7

Exodus 2:1  And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.
Luke 1:5-7  There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

MEMORISE:
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh (Ephesians 5:31)

EXPOSITION
Mirage is a phenomenon in which light is reflected through a layer of hot air close to the ground, giving the appearance of being refuge in the distance. Figuratively, Mirage is an illusion; not real, it only seems to be like something but it is not. Marriage is a lawful relationship or union between a man and a woman, which should be driven by love for companionship, productivity and care taking, in order to fulfil God's mandate for the world, stated in Genesis 1:27-28.

Many marriages in this generation migrated from the platform of mirage, a relationship that were based on (1) physical features, (2) materialism, which has the ability to fly away (Prov. 23:5) when contending with the storms of life, like birds that fly when faced with storms (3) Lust: beauty and position. Beauty changes with age and make up, no one looks like he/she was after many years, this implies beauty fades away with time. (4) Position: No one stays forever in a position; there is always a taking-over: hence you cannot sustain your marriage on the grounds of materialism and attitudes of the world. These and many more are relationship and marriage mirage.

Singles must build their relationship on the bases of companionship, Christ's love, submission, and the fear of God, and not just on physical features of life. A godly marriage is purely driven from the altar of love, submission, and companionship (Eph. 5:21-25). If your marriage must conquer the mirage of relationship, then you and your spouse must consciously let go of pride and build the attitude of consistent forgiveness, love, and the fear of God, at all times.

PRAYER POINTS
1. My marriage shall not be a mirage, in Jesus' name.
2. Lord, open my eyes to see clearly in my marriage, so that I can do the right things in Your love for my spouse and children.
3. Every wrong information and understanding that is forming or painting mirage in the place of marriage in minds of our youths, be destroyed in the name of Jesus.
