RCCG Sunday School TEACHER’s Manual For May 10, 2020 Lesson 37 : Topic – Managing Anger (Part 2)

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. OPENING PRAYER: Father, help me to be meek, calm and exercise restraints in the face of provocation.

MEMORY VERSE: “Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.” – Psalms 37:8

BIBLE PASSAGE: Numbers 20:8-12 KJV

8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

9 And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.

10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

INTRODUCTION:

It is important to re-emphasis that anger is valid emotion and is not always sinful. God allows for “righteous anger” which is anger with the proper focus, the proper motivation, the proper control, the proper duration and the proper result. Our problem is that our temper is often motivated by selfishness and directed towards other people instead of toward sin (Eph. 4:31). Managing anger is an important life skill. Thankfully, God’s word contains principles regarding how to handle anger in a godly manner, and how to overcome sinful anger.

TEXT REVIEW: Numbers 20:8-12

One major reason God denied Moses to lead the children of Israel to the Promised Land was because of unbelief. God said “Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.” V.12.
