February 27, 2020 Spirit Meat Devotional :- DEALING WITH THE ENEMIES OF INTIMACY (2) - 2 CHRONICLES 26:15-21

Today, we continue dealing with the enemy of your intimacy with God that we started with yesterday – Success. The key to intimacy as mentioned in this series is the time you spend with the Lord and nothing robs you of your time faster than success does. When you are unprepared spiritually, success could be lethal to you as a Christian.

From today’s text, Saul was under threat because as a king, he is made by people. If you don’t have people that you are leading, you are not a king.  Saul gave God a timeline; he exhibited haste and lost it all. Don’t attempt to replace God with success in your life, when such happens, God withdraws his commitment from such individual.
In I Samuel 13:12-13, Samuel was telling Saul that there was more success waiting for him in the future but with his foolish action, he had cut it short.
Success has brought about more failure than failure itself and if you cannot manage success very well it can be a major loophole for the devil to deal with you terribly. Beware of STD’s (Success Transmitted Diseases), remember where you are coming from regularly, it will keep you from the devil, and don’t forget that the devil compiles the file of every champion and he waits to get them. Let intimacy with God be your defence!
PRAYER: LORD, everything in me that can cause me to fail or fall in the high place you are taking me to, Lord deliver me and separate me from them all in Jesus name. Amen!
