February 25, 2020 ECWA Food For Today Devotional :- KEEPING IN-STEP WITH THE SPIRIT

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. TUESDAY, 25 FEBRUARY
TEXT: GALATIANS 5: 22 – 25
TOPIC: KEEPING IN-STEP WITH THE SPIRIT
The believer’s source of power to do what pleases and
glorifies God is the Holy Spirit. Zerubbabel is told pointedly that
he would succeed in the project of building God’s Temple and
that the great mountain (barrier) in front of him would not stop
him. But this promise is to be fulfilled not by his power or by
his might but by the Spirit of the LORD Almighty (Zech. 4:6-7).
Interestingly, the LORD brings in the third person of the Trinity,
the Holy Spirit. He is the one who empowers. This fact is
buttressed by Acts 1:8, where Jesus Christ, the second person
of the Trinity, promises the disciples power through the Holy
Spirit.
There is an agreement between the Father and the Son that
the Holy Spirit is the one who empowers for God’s work.
Consequently, the Apostle Paul in our text today enjoins
believers to keep in-step with the Spirit. When that happens,
not only do believers have power to serve God, they also bear
the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Unfortunately, some claim to have
power to “cast”, “bind” and “loose” but do not show any sign
of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control. They lack the fruit of the Holy
Spirit! It is in the fruit of the Holy Spirit that His power really
operates! Does your life bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit? Are
you keeping in-step with Him?
QUESTION: Who is the Holy Spirit to you?
PRAYER: Hold me by the hand, Dear Holy Spirit. Let our
relationship bear Your fruit, Amen.
