Anglican Church Sunday School Manual For March 1, 2020 :- His Historical Existence

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. THEME: IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST

SUB-THEME: The Humanity of Christ (1)

TOPIC: His Historical Existence

TEXT: Luke 2:1-20

MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 1:1 “The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of
David, the Son of Abraham”.

AIM: To acquaint us with the history of the humanity of Christ

INTRODUCTION: The humanity of Jesus is not a fabricated story. Scriptures have even
recorded the names of kings who ruled at one point or the other before, during or after
the birth of Jesus, including Herod, Pontius Pilate, Caesar Augustus and other Roman
Governors. This study will help us appreciate and establish these historical facts.

STUDY GUIDES/QUESTIONS:
1. What do you understand by the term, “The humanity of Christ”?
2. What can we learn about the history of Jesus’ human existence on earth from the
genealogy recorded inMatt. 1:1-17?
3. Read Luke 1:5; 2:1-4; 3:1-3; John 3:1, 18:33, and identify some of the historical figures
at the time of the birth or death of Jesus Christ; pointing out how this can help our
understanding of His historical existence.
4. What practical steps can we take as believers to preserve the essential information
about our faith to future generations? Deuteronomy 6:6-7

CONCLUSION: As believers, it is important for us to understand the history of the
humanity of Christ as it will help us to duly appreciate not just His sacrifice on our behalf,
but also the truth of His human existence at a point in the history of our world.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Established history does not lie
