There are two major manifestations that flow out of a genuine salvation experience. 

The first is A PASSION FOR GOD AND THE THINGS OF GOD. 

The second one is AN AWARENESS OF THE SINFULNESS OF SIN.

A passion for God and the things of God is what makes a believer to always go after activities that bring them into intimacy with the Lord. This is what makes you to want to pray more, study the word of God more and worship God more. This passion drives you to fellowship more with the Lord. The psalmist said, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD (Psa. 122:1).” That gladness was a product of passion. This passion must be continually stirred up because passion can die if not fed daily. You feed your passion as you appear before the Father in fellowship on a daily basis.

The second proof of your salvation is an awareness of the sinfulness of sin. This makes you not to tolerate sin. Likewise, you cannot allow negative thoughts to settle in your heart, you repent of such immediately. What makes you as a preacher who never masturbated to now be preaching that masturbation is not a sin is loss of awareness to the sinfulness of sin. Everyone that masturbates, either born-again or not, knows that masturbation is wrong. So, for a pastor to preach that it is right means he’s lost already.

Passion for God triggers awareness to the sinfulness of sin. If your passion for God is increasing, your awareness to the sinfulness of sin will also be increasing. Whatever reduces your passion for God and the things of God will also reduce your awareness to the sinfulness of sin.
 
PRAYER: I will not lose my passion for God and the things of God in Jesus’ name. Amen!
