--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. TOPIC - SHAMED, BUT NOT ASHAMED

Read 1 Thessalonians 2:1-8

1. For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:
2. But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.
3. For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:

4. But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
5. For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness:
6. Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.
7. But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:
8. So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.

MEMORISE: Then the multitude rose up together against them; and the magistrates tore off their clothes and commanded them to be beaten with rods (Acts 16:22)

EXPOSITION
Today is when the victims of enforced disappearances, are being remembered. Let us learn from how some ministers of the gospel were tried to be muzzled in the Bible, and their responses.
Many youths give the reason for not participating in street, or bus evangelism as being shy, but the Master warns otherwise (Mk. 8:38). Our forebears in faith suffered many things for the gospel's sake, but stood for the gospel with their flesh and blood. They saw the gospel as a must, in spite of the serious intimidation and harassment. Though maltreated, opposed, looked down upon, oppressed, hungered, with much hazards, they went on to please their Lord, delivered the people from darkness, sickness and death, knowing fully well that their rewards lie not with the people but with God. Peter and John could not be hindered by the high priests. They bid them not to speak again in Jesus' name (Acts 4:18). Instead of remaining silent and be freed, they preferred to be flogged, and were even happy suffering for Christ (Acts 4:19-20; 5:41; Rom. 5:3-5). Are you not also saying, "A whole me?" The empty barrel makes the loudest noise.

Let us bury our pride, consider less of the people's behaviour to us, and think more of God and His work. As a pastor, elder, deacon, youth leader in your church, do you see yourself as servants, rather than their lords? Paul suffered most, among the apostles of Jesus and did greater work (2 Cor. 11:23-28). Why? He despised the shame and pressed towards the utmost height, where his rewards are (Phil. 3:8-10). Allow your affections to be on things above and not on worldly, perishable things. If you are shamed, do not be ashamed to work with, and for God.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, I vow never to be ashamed to preach the gospel.
2. Oh Lord, help me to see You and Your work above my person and status.
3. Father, let the spirit of evangelism enter into our leaders, some of whom are busy amassing wealth at the expense of the spread of the gospel.
