TOPIC - BE POSITIVE
Read: Number 14:28-30
[28]Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:[29]Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me,[30]Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
MEMORISE: _Say to them, 'As I live,' says the LORD, 'just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you’_ (Number 14:28).
EXPOSITION
What we are getting are products of some of those things we have done. Also, some of those things that are happening to us, are the reminiscences of those confessions we have made. Your word carries power. It is a product of your thought, and guides your actions *(cf. Matt. 12:34b).* You can’t be better than the words you utter.
Nothing carries power more than the spoken words. Therefore, be careful what you say to yourself and others. Negative people speak negative words, while the positive ones say positive things (from the abundant within, the mouth makes confession).
The judgement of God to the entire Israelites, when the spies brought their report is, _Just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you._ what those leaders said had multiplier effects on the people. As regard these, there are two things you must do:
Everyone, especially leaders in various capacity, must understand and take responsibility for their statements. On no account should you utter any word without first considering the possible effects on yourself and others.
Develop positive and right attitude: The issues in the heart of those leaders informed what they confessed. They couldn’t say anything better than what they said, because they did not have the right kind of attitude to God and His things. The power of confession says, “Positive confession brings positive possession.”
PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, help my faith to be strong in You, and purify my heart.
2. I guard against negative, idle and non-faith-based words from my mouth, in Jesus’ name.
3. Lord, help our leaders to develop healthy personalities attitudes and mentalities, in line with Your holy standard.
