--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. TOPIC - Peace In The Face Of Trouble
READ: Psalms 4:1-8 King James Version (KJV)

  1. Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.
  2. How long, O you sons of men, Will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love worthlessness And seek falsehood? Selah
  3. But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly; The Lord will hear when I call to Him.
  4. Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah
  5. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in the Lord.
  6. There are many who say, “Who will show us any good?” Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.
  7. You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.
  8. I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord , make me dwell in safety.
THE MESSAGE:
In today’s passage, David expresses trust in God in time of great distress. The Psalm was composed on the same occasion as Psalm 3, when Absalom rebelled against him, and all the hearts of Israel went after Absalom (2 Samuel 15:13). David expresses faith that God would see him through his ordeal. In verse 2, he brings before God in prayer, those who wanted to truncate his kingship over Israel by aligning themselves with Absalom. His trust in verse 3 is that God knows whom He has set apart to rule His people. Consequently in verse 4, David advises his faithful followers who were zealous for his cause not to allow their anger lead them into sin. (See Ephesians 4:26; 2 Samuel 19:5-6).
In the closing part of the prayer, verses 6-8, David expresses the confidence that though many may not give him a chance of surviving his ordeal, the Lord who delivered him in the past, would yet deliver him. Based on this assurance, he could confidently say that the joy in his soul was greater than the increase of corn and wine and with Gods peace in his heart, he slept in spite of the prevailing danger (2 Samuel 17:2). Do you have this kind of Davids peace? There is deep spiritual lesson in trial: never look at the circumstance look at the God of all circumstances who gives peace in the face of trouble.
PRAYER: O Lord let the expectation of the wicked over my life be disappointed and let Your peace reign in me.
