TOPIC - WRONG CONNECTION
Read: John 14:6-13
[6]Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.[7]If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.[8]Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.[9]Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?[10]Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
[11]Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.[12]Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.[13]And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
MEMORISE: _Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”_ (John 14:6).
EXPOSITION
Experts in the electrical field can tell us the effects of wrongly installed electricity. Apart from no positive results, it may occasion inferno, which has destructive effects on lives and properties. A whole estate has got razed down due to wrongly connected electrical installations. As it is in the physical, so it is spiritually.
Jesus Christ remains our Source, Root and Body. We are streams that must be connected to the Source. We are branches that must be fixed with the Vine. That’s why He told us, “Without me, you can do nothing!” Many people are trying to reach God without passing through Jesus Christ! That is a wrong connection. You can’t be connected! There can never be light without the Light of the world! Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Connecting with any other person or deity to reach God is like somebody who wants to see Mr. President, but wants to go through the arch enemy of the president. Would he achieve meeting the president? That is wrong connection.
No man, religious founder, fighter or fundamentalist is equal to Jesus Christ. It is only through Christ; every other one is a wrong connection. Have you wrongly connected yourself, or someone wrongly connected you? You can do yourself good by disconnecting immediately. This would avert needless destruction of lives and properties. Connect, if you are not yet connect with Jesus Christ, by acknowledging, accepting and renouncing your evil ways. Stay connected by regular prayer, feeding on His Word and fellowship with the right people–God’s people. May you stay connected to the throne of Grace.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, disconnect me from anything, anybody or anywhere I have been wrongly connected to.
2. Oh Lord, help couples who have been wrongly connected, to manage themselves by connecting to Jesus.
3. Father, raise more giants who will go out there convincing people of the danger of not connecting to the source, Jesus Christ
