February 27, 2019 CAC LIVING WATER DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE : TOPIC - WHAT IS YOUR PETITION?

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. TOPIC - WHAT IS YOUR PETITION?

Read: 1 Samuel 1:11-27

[11]And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.[12]And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli marked her mouth.[13]Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.[14]And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee.[15]And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.[16]Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.[17]Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.[18]And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight.

So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.[19]And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her.[20]Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.[21]And the man Elkanah, and all his house, went up to offer unto the LORD the yearly sacrifice, and his vow.[22]But Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until the child be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD, and there abide for ever.

[23]And Elkanah her husband said unto her, Do what seemeth thee good; tarry until thou have weaned him; only the LORD establish his word. So the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him.[24]And when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and brought him unto the house of the LORD in Shiloh: and the child was young.[25]And they slew a bullock, and brought the child to Eli.[26]And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD.[27]For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him:

MEMORISE: We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions_ (Psalm 20:5).

EXPOSITION
The topic for the Living Water dose for today is the question one particular king asked one of his subjects in the Bible. At the banquet of wine the king said to Esther, "What is your petition? It shall be granted you…’’_ (Est. 5:6). Being a king who had everything at his disposal in his jurisdiction, he was asking Esther to place her petition before him. The king was speaking with royal influence that if she could only ask, it would be given to her. We are serving the King of all kings, who created the heavens and the earth. He owns everything. With Him all things are possible (Matt. 19:26). He is all-powerful, all-knowing God and very present help in trouble (Psa. 46:1; 139:1-15). Nothing is too hard for Him (Gen. 18:14). He has everything at His disposal in heaven and exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or even think (Eph. 3:20).

The same question is coming out to you now from your King: what is your petition? From the biblical point of view, petition means an earnest request. It is a request made for something desired, especially a respectful or humble request as to a superior or somebody in authority. In a legal term, petition means an official document asking a court to take a particular course of action. Any request made of God, Is thus a petition. Any time you come before God with your specific request, you are writing a petition to the supreme court of heaven (cf. 2 Sam. 15:31; 2 Chro. 20:1-17).

Added to other forms of prayer, including thanksgiving, confession, and intercession, is petition, which means to specifically request or ask for something in particular from God (Phi. 4:6). The prayer of Hannah is an example of petition as she ask God for a boy (1 Sam 1:11). In verse 17, Eli, the high priest, responded, Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.

What are your own petitions? God expects you to humbly ask Him in your prayers (Matt. 7:7; Jn. 14:14, 16-24).

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, give me grace to put my trust in You in my daily prayers.
2. Father, I ask for power of prevailing prayers, in the name of Jesus.
3. Pray for all the Christians homes to learn the way of daily prayer to make their needs known to God
