TOPIC - REMEMBER, YOU ARE STILL A CHRISTIAN
Read: John 17:16
MEMORISE: For our citizenship is in heaven, from
which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the
Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:20).
EXPOSITION
They are not of the world, just as I am not of the
world, Jesus said (Jn. 17:16). He did not pray to
God to take us out of this world, but to protect
and guide us in it. Every Christian should know
certainly, that we are not of this world.
When Jacob was in Paddan-Aram, He knew he
had a homeland-Canaan. This constantly
encouraged him to live a godly life despite his
experience in Laban’s house (Gen. 31:40-42).
Don’t be carried away by pleasure or hardship,
status or office. Stand for the truth and for God.
Even in your privacy as a child of God, you are
expected to represent Him. Don’t join the crowd;
imitate Christ (Phil. 2:5). God forewarned the
Israelites never to be like the Canaanites and the
nations around them, because their personalities
were not the same, though they lived in the same
land.
Christians should always remember God’s
attitude and commandments. The person next to
you might not choose Him as Lord (Jn.
17:14-15). Be watchful! As a Christian, you
should exhibit godly visions. Let people know you
are committed to being a latter-day saint.
Continues being taught of Him (Eph 4:21). Decide
to live for Him not minding the cost (Gal. 2:20).
You can be sure of His divine interventions as the
need arise (1 Peter 3:13). Maintain your identity
and integrity in Him.
PRAYER POINTS
1. I refuse to lose focus in my walk with and for
God, in Jesus’ name.
2. I receive the grace to represent God here on
earth, in Jesus’ name.
3. Father, uphold Your ministers; let their eyes not
be diverted from You so as to lead Your people
aright.
