ANCHOR TEXT: “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men”. 
Proverbs 22:29.

No matter what you are doing or the task that lies ahead, the best way to develop yourself is through training.  Whatever your chosen field, learn how to do it well – because though interest may create the zeal, only training will ensure the skill. Know that we are in a competitive world, and for any to fare well, he/she must be ready for competition. Competitiveness therefore is only feasible when you are current.  If you are not, you will not be able to flow with current changes.
The question is – in what area are you deficient? Find out and fill the gap by undergoing training in that field. In 2 Timothy 1:6, the Bible says; ‘wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God which is in thee by the putting on of my hands’.  So, wherever you notice a gift, stir it up.Identify your field.  
Know what you are created for and work towards becoming an authority in it.  Know that you cannot become a champion in all fields – but the particular one you are cut out for should not be wasted.
Broaden your horizon.  Do not limit yourself to what you already know; expand your coast through training.  Are you a student, a minister of God, or a vocation expert? Civil servant etc?  Develop yourself in the area of your calling.
