James 2:17.

Nothing works until you work; things will remain elusive until you work them out. Wishing only without necessary steps are mere day dreaming. The truth is, whatever you believe does not amount to much unless it causes you to wake up from your dream and start working towards making it a reality. 
In 2 Thessalonians 3, the Bible records the situation in the first century church at Thessalonica. Some of the members were so convinced that Jesus was coming back soon and they quit working. Those that were farmers stopped planting expecting the coming of the Lord. Unfortunately, majority of them with lofty dreams died without fulfilling those dreams. It is biblical to await the coming of the Lord with all sincerity of heart but at the same time, we should not be useless on earth. 
We must do all it takes to be relevant here.In fact, the Lord’s coming should meet us working not idle. The Bible says; ‘occupy till I come…’ Luke 19:13. The prodigal son, having conceived the idea of what to do to be reconciled with his father got up at once and returned home. He never folded his arms waiting for God to speak to his father. If he had done that, he would have waited in futility. 
Do not just pray for success or excellence; take appropriate actions towards fulfilling your goals; read extensively and attend lectures regularly. Are you a job seeker? Update and get your curriculum vitae ready; submit it to those that require your services. Remember, the faith to move mountain requires great effort. Without work, faith is dead.
