C.A.C SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON
REVISION WEEK 2.
UNIT II: GOD'S LOVE TO ISRAEL
8th July, 2018.
Lesson Eigth.
GOD STILL LOVES ISRAEL
Ordinarily, God should have totally destroyed His people, because of their idolatry. Yet, He made sure the remnants returned. Why? Love!
MEMORY SCRIPTURE
I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely. For My anger has turned away from him (Hosea 14:4).
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS
1. God's love towards man is irreversible. His demand from the erring man is to repent and return to Him.
2. He has said in His Word that He would not cast out anyone who comes unto Him (Jn. 6:37). He has promised to look with favour on the repentance, and a return to Him.
Wesee the love of God at work even in judgement.
DIVISION I: YAHWEH WAS DISAPPOINTED IN THEM (Jeremiah 2:1ff).
A. HIS LOVE CAN'T TOLERATE SIN (vv. 1ff)
B. HE PUNISHED HIS ERRING PEOPLE (vv. 26-30)
PART I: LESSON DERIVED
1. When a man neglects God's Word, apostasy follows, and God will always punish sin, at the end, despite His grace and love.
2. When God disciplines His children, it is never meant to disown or destroy them, but to bring them back to Him, in love.
DIVISION II: YET, HE PRESERVED THE REMNANTS (Ezra 1:1-11; Jeremiah 25:11; 29:1ff).
A. MONITORED THEM IN EXILE (Jer. 25:11; 29:1ff)
B. MADE SURE THERE WERE RETURNEES (Ezra 1:1-11)

LESSON DERIVED
1. God will not allow the enemy (Satan) to dominate us without end, even when He (God) is justly punishing us for sins committed.
2. God's love brought the Jewish remnants back home. His love restores the repentant sinner, today (1 Jn. 1:8-2:2)
