--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. THE LIVING WATER (January-December, 2024)

DATE : Monday, April 1, 2024
(Fools Day)

MEMORISE : Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittat, saying, "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it for their wickedness has come up before Me" (Jonah 1:1, 2).

READ : Jonah 3:1-10

[1]. Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying,

[2]. “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you.”

[3]. So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three-day journey in extent.

[4]. And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day’s walk. Then he cried out and said, “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!”

[5]. So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.

[6]. Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes.

[7]. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water.

[8]. But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.

[9]. Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish?

[10]. Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.

In the game of soccer, a yellow card is usually issued to any player who commits a foul while the match is ongoing. The yellow card serves as a form of warning, or caution to the player. It is a deterrent to stop such from happening again. The player must be very careful, continuing in the match, because any other foul play, or offence would attract a second yellow card, and an automatic red card, sending the player off the pitch into the dressing room.

God severally issues warnings to His people like He warned the Ninevites through the ministry of Jonah (Jon. 1:1-2). The Ninevites had misbehaved against God and were at the verge of destruction, but God wouldn't punish anyone without having sufficiently warned him/her. He raised Jonah to go and sound the warning bell to them. That was the yellow, and most likely, the last card (opportunity) they had. Thank God, at least, they didn't miss it at that point; they chose not to be foolish. As true children of God, it is expected that we heed our Father's warnings and turn new leaves accordingly. Thank God the Ninevites heeded His warning and repented, and God forgave them, showing them His mercy (Jon 3:5-10). Such is the attitude that God requires of His people-a truly sober and repentant heart (Psa. 51:17).

1. Lord, please forgive me for all Your warnings I have failed to heed.

2. Lord, from today, I determine and receive Your grace never to take Your mercy and warnings for granted anymore.

3. Lord, help our Church and political leaders to always listen to Your voice of correction, so as to please You in line with Your eternal redemptive plan.

1. No not despairingly
Come I to Thee,
No, not distrustingly
Bend I the knee,
Sin hath gone over me,
Yet is this still my plea
Yet is this still my plea
Jesus hath died.

2. Ah! Mine iniquity
Crimson has been,
Infinite, infinite,
Sin upon sin,
Sin of not loving Thee,
Sin of not trusting Thee
Sin of not trusting Thee,
Infinite sin.

3. Lord, I confess to Thee
Sadly my sin,
All I am tell I Thee
All I have been
Purge Thou my sin away
Wash Thou my soul this day;
Wash Thou my soul this day
Lord, make me clean.

4. Faithful and just art Thou,
Forgiving all;
Low at Thy pierced feet
Saviour I fall
Lord, let the cleansing blood,
Blood of the Lamb of God,
Blood of the Lamb of God,
Pass o'er my soul.

5. Then all is peace and light
This soul within;
Thus shall I walk with Thee,
The loved Unseen;
Leaning on Thee, my God,
Guided along the road,
Guided along the road,
Nothing between
