CAC Living Water Daily Devotional For June 28, 2022 : Topic - HELP SOMEBODY!

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. READ: LUKE 10:25-37

10:25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

10:26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

10:28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

10:29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

10:30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

10:31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

10:32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

10:33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

10:34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

10:35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

10:36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

10:37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

MEMORISE:
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it...Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee (Proverbs 3:27, 28)

EXPOSITION
If one of your brethren becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him (Lev. 25:35a). There is the tendency, these days, for some Christians to assume the undue role of a false complainant, lecturer, preacher, or even God, when someone, especially unwanted, in need to help asks for it. Such acts fail to fulfil the perfect law of God, which is LOVE. This attitude is most prominent among those who think they have some things that make them better than others in terms of education, money, status, etc.

The living God knows that there would be inevitable times of individual depression and recession, hence the command and provision for His people to remember their fellows when such times come (Lev. 19:9,10). God desires that we create a specially dedicated part of our possessions to take care of the need of the less privileged (Deut.26:12-14). Ministers of God, widows, orphans, strangers, and even angels are provided for in all these (Gal. 6:1-10, Heb.13:1,2).

We should preach Christ more with our earthly goods in these days of economic stringency rather than our grammatical fluency, academic weight, self-righteousness, and words of condemnation. Today's devotional text is among many such that our Lord Jesus Christ authoritatively confirmed and scripturally established as part of several divine injunctions and moral responsibility of the true believers (Matt. 9:10-13; 12:1-7). May we be soul winners and not mere preachers and signposts. Amen. Help someone today!

PRAYER POINTS
1. Confess all your sins of insincerity, hypocrisy, and stinginess to God and your fellows. Ask God for forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus.
2. Pray for a compassionate and discerning heart to know when and how to help others unconditionally, as well as who to help.
3. Pray that God should fill the heart of our leaders (secular and spiritual) with true compassion for the citizenry so that they would stop treating the masses like nobodies.

Marvelous Tuesday...Shalom
