Title: The Lord is the Strength
(Psalm 27:1-14)The Lord is the
light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked came against To eat up my flesh,My enemies and foes,They stumbled and fell.Though an army may encamp against me,My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident.One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord,And to inquire in His temple.For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle .He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock. And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord. Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice ! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.When You said, “Seek My face,”
My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”Do not hide Your face from me; Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help;Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation.
When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me.Teach me Your way, O Lord, And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries;
For false witnesses have risen against me, And such as breath out violence.I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!
Fear is the devil’s domain, that is what he puts in us to bring discouragement and distraction. Everyone of us have been captured by the fear of the enemy in one way or the other, fear of Unknow, sickness, rejection or even death. We can always overcome fear by trusting in the word of the God. (John 10:10) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly. We have to trust in the word of God. God came to give us life in a more abundant way, but devil is interested to destroy what God has made right. We have to stand on the promises of God and claim that abundant life. He came to give us eternal life and He does not add sorrow to His gift. Life in Christ is more deeply and meaningful than life without Him which is hollow. He loves us and has laid down His life for us, the unbelievers can’t experience this life.
We can conquer fear by trusting in the Lord, who brings salvation to our soul. If we want to dispel the power of fear, let us agree with the writer of Psalm that the Lord is our light and our salvation. We often run to God only when we have problems, that is why we are constantly in fear. Believers in the Lord can call the Lord any moment with no limitation, but it is the work of the enemy that make us to run away from God and seeking Him only when we are in need.
Let us summon courage to start seeking God earlier before problems comes, that way before we start calling God He will start getting ready to answer. It will take time to see Him in our time of need if we should start calling Him only in time of need. David knew the importance of seeking the Lord earlier. If we seek God only in times of need, then remember we have to start establishing our strong relationship with Him first. It is not a good idea to start seeking Him only when we are in trouble. (Psalm 63:1) . Make Jesus your friend, commit your ways to Him, worship Him and let Him continues to have His way in your life. You will not be disappointed in Jesus name.
Prayers: Oh! God of heaven and earth, thank you for all your guidance. Help me to live in obedience with your word and to have aspiration to seek you every day of my life in Jesus name.
