Title: Instructions for Christian Homes.
(Colossians 3:18-25) Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Jesus Christ you are serving. Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.
Here in this chapter of the Colossians. The word of God has instructed everyone the role they have to play in our Christian homes to please the Lord. The wives are to submit to their husbands as the head of the family which Christ is the head of the man. As Christians in today’s world , our submission has some restrictions attached to it. Some women think they can submit in some areas but not in all the areas, in all the areas we must submit to our husbands, submit your body, your will , your money, etc, the Bible says when you are submitting to Your husbands you are submitting to God. Some women have asked me this questions about money. Should I be giving him my money too? Yes, there is no if or but on this , because this is the word of God not man.
When you obey your husband , it will be his turn to show you Love. Remember that God created man first then the woman. We cannot put limit on submission . The Bible says the man should love his wife, so when we submit ourselves to the men they will show you love , no man wants a woman who does not obey them . That is where the problem starts. To the slaves and to the human masters. The Bible says whatever you do , do it like unto the Lord. Knowing that it is God who will reward you.
Children should be treated with love, discipline with love , not trying to aggravate them, or disrespect them. We should not put them down or try to destroy them in an attempt to discipline them. God has given us order on how we should all serve in our homes with the fear of God, knowing that when we all do our part as unto the Lord, His name will be glorified and there will be peace and goodness of the Lord will locate us. Amen.
Prayers: God please help me to submit to my husband, knowing that when I submit to him I am doing what pleases your heart in Jesus name. God help me to know that whatever I do here on earth I am doing it like unto the Lord. Help me Lord to serve you well so that I will get good reward in heaven in Jesus mighty name.
