You must have a living relationship with the Holy Spirit if you will develop your sensitivity. Spiritual things are very slippery and except you develop your sensitivity, you will not be able to master and trap divine communications when they come. The church was never raised to operate without the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49, John 14:15-18). Jesus Himself, during His earthly ministry never stepped out until he was baptized with the Holy Spirit (Matt. 3:13-17).

If you do not take time to develop your spiritual sensitivity as a Christian, the devil will present open traps to you as open doors. Spiritual sensitivity helped Paul the Apostle to pick out that girl in the book of Acts 16 that her operations were not of God but by the spirit of python – divination. If Paul had not been spiritually sensitive, that girl would have become a member of their prayer team and most likely the leader, since “She prophesied”, and that move of God would have become history today.
No believer should attempt to live the Christian life or relate with the world or do God’s work without the involvement of the Holy Spirit; doing so will lead to a life of frustration. There are two ways the Holy Spirit can get involved in a believer’s life and these are relationship and empowerment. You cannot afford to open up to the empowerment side of the Holy Spirit and despise the relationship side. That major error destroyed the life and destiny of Samson. He was celebrating the anointing at the expense of a strong relationship with the One who gives the anointing (Judges 13 -16).

PRAYER: Lord, I receive a renewed fellowship and walk with the Holy Spirit in Jesus name. Amen!
