April 8, 2020 Methodist Daily Reflection :- ANOINTED FOR BURIAL?

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. April 8, 2020 Methodist Daily Reflection :- ANOINTED FOR BURIAL?

METHODIST DAILY REFLECTION

WEDNESDAY 8TH APRIL, 2020
(HOLY WEDNESDAY)

THEME:  ANOINTED FOR BURIAL?

PASSAGE: Mark 14:1-9

Today marks the last Wednesday of Jesus Christ on earth during His earthly mission. He was getting closer to His crucifixion and to the end of His assignment on earth. On this good day, He was anointed by a woman who was more than grateful for the Ministry of Jesus. She had been delivered of seven devils by the power of Jesus. So why would she not be grateful?

On this Holy Wednesday, the woman came to show gratitude. The Bible says, “There came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on His head” Mark 14:3. People present with Jesus queried her for wasting such expensive ointment on Jesus.

Jesus told them not to trouble her, because she had done a good work on Him (Mark 14:6). Then the bombshell- He informed them that she had anointed Him for His burial (Mark 14:8). It is amazing that Jesus was talking about His burial in such a relaxed atmosphere, knowing that in two days He was going to be tormented to death in such a way that He would die little by little on the Cross for more than three 3 hours! One cannot keep wondering why He did not seem to feel worried, distressed or emotional. He knew the end-result was glorification, victory and joy. Oh, that all believers who pass through turbulence would know that the result of their light affliction is glory!

The Bible says in 2Corinthians 4:17 "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory."

On this Holy Wednesday, ask for the expensive ointment of the Holy Spirit and you will have it in Jesus' name.

HYMN: MHB 112 ‘I BLESS the Christ of God'

MEMORY VERSE: Mark 14:8 "She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial."

PRAYER: O Lord, anoint me today with the Holy Spirit power to do exploits for Thee.

Read - Day:  Phil 3; Night: Deut 7-9
