January 26, 2020 Spirit Meat Devotional :- SPIRITUAL DESENSITISATION (1) - HEBREWS 3:13 



Spiritual desensitisation is a state whereby a believer has become hardened to what touches God and has lost sensitivity in the spirit.  It involves the hardening of the spirit of a believer. The scripture above is saying that there is a hardening process that can happen to a believer’s spirit such that the tenderness of Christian love, the kindness, and the emotions that flow out of Christ through a believer become hardened. Such a believer will then be no more sensitive in the areas he is supposed to be sensitive.
 
There are two major areas where Christians are already desensitized to what actually matters and is of great concern to God. The first is the CHRIST-LESS ETERNITY AWAITING A SINNER, and the second is the IMPENDING RAPTURE. More than 85% of Christians are already desensitized in these two areas:
 
CHRIST-LESS ETERNITY AWAITING A SINNER: This is one area that Christians have become desensitized. We are no longer concerned or bothered about the eternal doom awaiting a sinner. Many of us have sinners in our place of work, at school, as colleagues but we are not thinking about how they will end their journey in hell if they die without accepting Jesus Christ as their Saviour. That is simply spiritual desensitization.
 
THE IMPENDING RAPTURE: The second coming of Jesus for the saints of God is another area the devil has desensitized Christians. Many believers are not living with the consciousness of this imminent event. A lot of believers live on a daily basis not according to what is written in the word of God and think because they speak in tongues or attend church services, they are already qualified for Heaven. This is not so. We need to take heed and be sure our life is pleasing to the Father.
 
PRAYER: LORD, deliver me from the danger of spiritual desensitization. Amen!
