--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. TOPIC - Do Not Abandon The Lord
READ: Jeremiah 2:1-13 King James Version (KJV)
1 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

3 Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.
4 Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:
5 Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?
6 Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?
7 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.
8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children’s children will I plead.
10 For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.
11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
12 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.
13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
THE MESSAGE:
Israel’s faithfulness to the LORD did not last. They followed worthless idols, forgetting the LORD who led them through the wilderness to the Promise Land. Jeremiah singled out three groups charged with the responsibility of leading the nation and exposed their lack of obedience.
1. The Priests: They were to instruct the people in the ways of God, but they did not know God. They had no intimate relationship with God, yet they were teaching the people the ways of God.
2. The Leaders: These were the political and civil leaders appointed by God to guide and protect the nation but they rebelled against God who appointed them.
3. The Prophets: Instead of declaring the whole counsel of God by rebuking and correcting the people, the Prophets prophesied by Baal and urged the people to follow worthless idols. This is the case in our generation, where false prophesy is the order of the day. Child of God, how faithful are you to the LORD who appointed you to that office? Whose interests are you representing? Most times, when God blesses and repositions a man, such a man tends to abandon the LORD for the mundane things of this world. Have you abandoned the LORD? Come back to Him right now! He will accept you. Remember, God has placed you in that position to serve Him in humility. One day, you will stand before Him and give an account of your stewardship.
Prayer: Dear LORD, help me to be faithful to You in the office of my calling, in the Name of Jesus, Amen.
