Anglican Church Of Nigeria Weekly Sunday School/ Bible Studies Manual For August 4, 2019 : TOPIC - Early Church Leaders and Pau .l

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. more positive impact in the world.

INTRODUCTION :

The history of the formative years of the Church is replete with personalities
who sacrificially committed themselves to the furtherance of the business of
the kingdom of God. Most of those who were privileged to provide leadership in
the various echelons of the church were exemplary in life. Some, like Paul, had
to willingly relinquish their pre-conversion gains/positions for obviously
dangerous and more strenuous lives of missionaries and Christian leaders.
This study shows how these early church leaders walked and what they
accomplished in building the Church.

STUDY GUIDE:

1. From the following scriptures, identify some of the early church leaders,
Acts 1: 13-14; 2 Tim. 1:1 .

them as godly leaders. Acts 2: 14, 36-41, 44-47; 4: 18-20; 6: 1-4; Phil. 3:
7-11; 2 Cor.6: 3-10. Cf. Exod.18:21 & Acts 6: 3.

activities today and how today’s Church has fared .

people and advances God’s purpose for establishing the Church. They are
agents of positive change, even to the larger society. The Church today is in
dire need of such godly, sacrificial and committed leaders .
