TOPIC - Intimacy With God (II) 
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 28-29; Acts 13:1-25
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 55:1-6
MEMORY VERSE: “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” – Jeremiah 33:3

The MESSAGE:
Yesterday, we established the fact that intimacy with God is highly rewarding and that you should pursue and achieve it this year. If you are already in close communion with God, you can pray to Him to teach you how you can grow even deeper in your relationship with Him. In the end, you will reap untold divine and earthly benefits. Let us examine some more ways you can achieve, maintain and sustain intimacy with God.
Cultivate the habit of having personal retreat or spending time alone with God in studying His word, meditating, fasting and praying. In addition, you must guide your thoughts. If your thoughts are dirty and ungodly, you cannot be intimate with our Holy God. Therefore, you must keep your thought-life within the boundaries of what is stated in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Another way you can achieve an intimate relationship with God is through deep worship. In Matthew 4:10, Jesus said to the devil, “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” You can also achieve intimacy with God by asking Him for it. God loves it when we ask. He wants us to ask Him for everything we desire. He said we should and we shall receive and our joy shall be full. Matthew 7:7-11 says we should ask and receive, seek and find, knock and the door will be opened unto us. Beloved, I encourage you to ask God for a deep, intimate communion with Him in the rest of the journey of your life. You will be glad you did.
There are other ways you can achieve intimacy with God. You can do so by watching, fasting and praying. In Matthew 26:41, Jesus said “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Also in 2 Corinthians 6, Apostle Paul enumerated the things that made him an approved minister of God who enjoys intimacy with God. Parts of what he listed were watching and fasting. I encourage you to imitate the distinguished apostle so as to experience intimacy with God. Live a life of constant obedience to God’s word. Have faith and absolute trust in Him, for without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6). Be open and receptive to God at all times and follow Him all the way. Your life will be a success story and your testimonies will be awesome, in Jesus’ name.
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:ONE OF THE MAJOR KEYS FOR ACHIEVING INTIMACY WITH GOD IS TO SPEND QUALITY TIME ALONE WITH HIM IN BIBLE STUDY, PRAYER AND MEDITATION.

PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
  1. O Lord, give me an attitude of gratitude, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Power to live above sin, come upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Father, I want to daily live in Your presence, help me to achieve this in the name of Jesus.
    EVENING
  4. Holy Spirit, arise and fight my battles to a standstill, in the name of Jesus.
  5. Lord, catapult my spiritual life to mountain-top, in the name of Jesus.
  6. Let all strangers flee from my spirit and let the Holy Spirit take control, in the name of Jesus.
  7. Lord, grant me victory over every temptation and satanic device, in the name of Jesus.
