C.A.C SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON FOR JULY 21, 2019 UNIT I: THE SCRIPTURES ARE GIVEN : LESSON ONE - Topic - IN ANTICIPATION OF REDEMPTION

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. C.A.C SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON.
That The Scripture Must Be Fulfilled
UNIT I: THE SCRIPTURES ARE GIVEN.
July 21st, 2019.

LESSON ONE
IN ANTICIPATION OF REDEMPTION

When man fell, God raised man's hope of redemption in saying that the Seed of the woman shall crush the ancient serpent's head, though the ancient serpent shall bruise His heel (Gen. 3:15). Glory to the loving God.

MEMORY SCRIPTURE
The devil who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast was the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever (Rev. 20:10)

BRIEF COMMENT
Deceit is an age-long phenomenon. It has caused major disaster for man. Adam and Eve lost the bliss of the garden of Eden to deceit perpetrated by man's arch-enemy, Satan. Man would have been doomed for life (forever) if not for God's timely and eternal intervention, known as "Redemption". By the agenda, which had been eternally planned and carried out by God, even before man fell, came into play, and he was permanently restored and redeemed Halleluyah.

Eventually, the evil one, devil, would suffer final and ultimate condemnation for all his atrocities. As man would be finally, fully and ultimately redeemed, Satan would be condemned eternally in the lake of fire (hell). He would suffer in the lake of fire along side with the beast and false prophet. His fate is eternal condemnation. God loves man dearly that is why He made provision for his redemption in His Scripture, even before man fell (Jn. 1:29; Rev. 5:6-12).

DEVOTIONAL BIBLE READINGS FOR WEEK ONE
Mon.    22:    Satan, A Liar from the Beginning (Jn. 8:44)
Tue.     23:    Satan Operated Through the Serpent (Gen. 3:1)
Wed.    24:    Satan Operated Through Peter (Mt. 16:21,22)
Thur.    25:    Be Careful with Satan (2 Cor. 2:11)
Fri.       26:    Give No Place to the Devil (Eph. 4:27)
Sat.      26:    Resist the Devil (Jas. 4:7)

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS
1.    God has spoken and has moved men and women to commit these into writing, usually called, the Scripture. These, He did for the establishment of unbroken and eternal relationship with man.
2.    His intention for releasing these wonderful and eternal words is simple Redemption. He wants man to be redeemed, now and forever, so that he (man) may be at home with Him in His kingdom eternally.
3.    God wants His kingdom occupied with people, the saints. There can be no real king without subjects or loyalists. Making sure you are part of that kingdom.

BACKGROUND SCRIPTURES:  Genesis 3:15; John 3:16

AIM AND OBJECTIVES
AIM:  To educate the students to know that the redemption of man is paramount to God and provisionally He has released His Son to get this done perfectly and eternally.

OBJECTIVES: At the end of this lesson, learners should have:
i.   know that God's agenda for man is borne out of deep love and it is fully eternal;
ii.  known that man fell into a precarious condition after he surrendered to Satan, his own enemy, thereby needed redemption (Rev. 12:7-9);
iii. realized that God provisionally made salvation available to man, using His only begotten Son as ransom;
iv. acknowledged the fact that the sacrifice of Jesus was potent enough to deal with the enemy as he was totally crushed; and
v.  realized that man would be restored and redeemed ultimately and would be at home with God in His eternal kingdom for fellowship and service.

INTRODUCTION
TEXTUAL SOURCE:GENESIS 2:15-17; 3:1-24; EXODUS 28:11-15; MATTHEW 25:34; LUKE 19:10; JOHN 8:44; 12:31,33; TIMOTHY 2:14; 1 PETER 5:8; REVELATION 13:8; 17:8.
This first Unit in this second half of the year is titled, "The Scriptures Are Given". Under this, Lesson One deals with the topic, "In Anticipation of Redemption". Go's has spoken in/through the Scriptures; He has spoken on all matters of life from the beginning to the end (II Tim. 3:16; Heb. 4:12). Are we listening?

Scripture (Latin - 'Scriptura', Hebrew - 'Ketah', Greek - 'Graphe') refers to the WORD of the Living God put together by the inspired men at different times: they could be the Law (Pentateuch), the prophets, the writings and later, the New Testament books (LK. 24:27,44). The scripture was accepted by the Israelites (Isa. 61:1-10), taught and quoted by Jesus Christ (LK. 4:16-18) believed and accepted as the Word of God by the Church.

This lesson will open us to humbly know man ignorantly, innocently but with the heart of disobedience gave the certificate of occupancy of the Earth to the enemy of God, and of his soul, who had fallen before man was created. The devil "rightly" but unsuccessfully asserted this illegal ownership of the Earth as he tempted the Lord Jesus Christ (Mt. 4:8-11).

Man needed and would need redemption, therefore, a 'ransom' would be needed (Mk. 10:45). This had been declared in the scriptures before it eventually took place on the cross.

May we be blessed as we see the scriptures being fulfilled, which would also affect our exceptional of the fulfillment of the end-time prophecies.

INTRODUCTION TO EACH DIVISION
This lesson is divided into two sections, I and II. Each section is further divided into A and B respectively.

DIVISION I: MAN SURRENDERS TO THE UNKNOWN ENEMY
This division describes how man unsuspectingly gave in to Satan. The first part is Satan, The Unknown Enemy and the other part is, Satan Deceives Man. Genesis 2:15-17; Exodus 28:11-15; John 8:44; I Timothy 2:14; I Peter 5:8 are the point of calls in this division.

DIVISION II: MAN'S NON-NEGOTIABLE RESTORATION
This section says: Man's Enemy Will Be Crushed and Man Will Be Restored. Yes, our restoration and redemption are non-negotiable because it is unheard that God would begin to bargain with the devil over any matter. That is not possible. Genesis 3:14,15,20-24; 25:34, John 12:31,33 and Revelation 13:8,17:8 are chosen for consideration.

LESSON OUTLINE
I.   MAN SURRENDERS TO THE UNKNOWN ENEMY
     A.   SATAN, THE UNKNOWN ENEMY
     B.   SATAN DECEIVES MAN.

II.  MAN'S NON-NEGOTIABLE RESTORATION
     A.   MAN'S ENEMY WILL BE CRUSHED
     B.   MAN WILL BE RESTORED

LESSON EXPOSITION
I.   MAN SURRENDER TO THE UNKNOWN ENEMY (Gen. 2:15-17; Exodus 28:11-15; John 8:44; 1 Timothy 2:14; 1 Peter 5:8

The "unknown Enemy" is no one else but Satan. He is man's archenemy. He lost his place before God and was hauled to the earth (Rev. 12:1ff) Since his banishment, he had been looking for ways to capture man and permanently destroy him, just as he had been eternally destroyed. Unfortunately, man surrendered to him through Adam. Thanks to God for the plan of redemption. Warning: don't in anyway surrender to the enemy of your soul, now that you are free through Christ Jesus.

A.   SATAN, THE UNKNOWN ENEMY (Gen. 2:15-17)
And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat..." (vv. 16,17).
i.   Man was created with glory, honour, wisdom and power from the only Creator --- God
ii.  He had been well placed, positioned, empowered and encouraged. Why? For an unbroken relationship with the loving God.
iii. He was given a law of love. Everything was under his control but was to obey God, unconditionally (Gen. 2:16,17). God did not tell him that there was an enemy who had eternally lost relationship with God but he had heard enough to continue being with God. Scripture does warn ahead of danger.
iv.  Satan who had been lost before the creation of the Earth, and had consequently lost relationship with God, heard the Creator as He gave the law of love, light and life (Ezek. 28:1-15; cf. Isa. 14:12-14).
v.  The names the Scriptures give to Satan include Prince of the kingdom of Persia (Dan. 10:13), Prince of the World (who would not be a king (Jn. 12:31; 14:30; 16:11). He is also called Lucifer (Isa. 14:12). He had fallen before the creation: this was known unto God but not declared to man.
vi. The Scripture shows Him as the enemy even till the end comes. Have we learnt from the Scripture? (1 Peter 5:8,9; Jas. 4:7).
vii. The Scripture must be fulfilled on Satan, either he likes it or not. He is permanently doomed and no chance for his restoration. That is why you can't afford to befriend or or joke with him. Don't give him a foothold. He is your enemy and the enemy of God.

B.   SATAN DECEIVES MAN (Gen. 3:1-13)
Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?" (v. 1).
i.   Satan has some names that the Scripture reveals and cannot be known through any other source. Jesus says the devil is a murderer from the beginning (the beginning?), "a liar and the father of lies" (Jn. 8:44).
ii.  The nature and characters of the devil were displayed in the way he dealt with Eve in the garden. Eve fell into his hands by allowing the liar to distort, adulterate and misinterpret Word of God (Gen. 2:16,17; cf Gen. 3:1-8; 1 Tim. 2:13-15).
iii. The deceiver tried the same way again by approaching his Creator --- Jesus Christ (Mt. 4:1-11). The Scriptures warn us of the deceits and devices of the devil (2 Cor. 2:11; 1 Pet. 5:8).
iv.  So, be prayerful and watchful (Eph. 4:27; Jam. 4:7).
v.  Adam and Eve did not recognize Satan in the serpent but Jesus recognized him on Peter (Mat. 16:23).
vi. Has the Deceiver stopped? No. Deceit, falsehood and lies and are his natural ways. These are what run in his veins or vessel. Don't expect him to change but beware of his antics or wiles.

LESSON DERIVED
1.  Satan, the unknown enemy, successfully outwitted Eve and subsequently Adam, because he was not known as the enemy who could come in any form.
2.  The devil (though defeated) started his life with deceit and he is still a deceiver, hence the Scriptures warn and show the way of victory over the devil.

WORK TO DO
Adam and Eve did not recognize the presence of the devil (Satan) in the serpent but Jesus sensed the presence of Satan in Peter. Discuss with reference to James 4:7.

SUGGESTED ANSWER TO WORK TO DO
The scripture warns us to submit to God (James 4:7a)
*  Submission to God alone means total and whole obedience and loyalty to His will, commandment and precept.
*  Divided loyalty is not acceptable when you are loyal to God. No one servant, can serve two masters.
*  When one has fully submitted to God alone, then it wouldn't be difficult to recognize the defeated challenger who must be resisted (either idols, gods, goddesses or anything). Don't allow anything to steal your loyalty to God.
*  Here comes the issue of resistance.
*  You can be able to draw a resistance when you place the demand of the other "master" side by side the demand of God, which is clear and scriptural.
*  This is what assisted Jesus; he placed the requests of Satan side by side the word of God (scripture) and it couldn't stand. Even though, Satan did not come in any form than human (Peter), he could still recognize him as Satan.
*  If Adam and Eve had applied this principle, they might have been able to recognize the activity of Satan in the serpent. But unfortunately, Eve took everything, hook, line and sinker and her husband never queried her for everything, hook, line and sinker and her husband never queried her for that.

You too can floor the devil anytime, anywhere and in any form, if you;
*  Submit to God alone
*  Don't give in to double-loyalty
*  Watch and pray.
*  Don't believe every spirit, but try them.
*  Use the scripture to guide your life, actions and activities
*  Palce demands and pressures side the scripture to see if they measure up
God will help you.
