RCCG Sunday School TEACHER’s Manual For June 30, 2019 Lesson 44 : Topic – Effective Prayers (Part 1)

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. LESSON INTRODUCTION:
According to the scriptures, the power if prayer is simply the power of God who hears and answers prayers. In order to pray effectively, we need to understand the nitty-gritty of prayer. This is spelt out in the teaching of the Lord Jesus on prayer and by His practical life of prayer. Luke 18:1-8.
TEXT REVIEW: PHILIPPIANS 4:4-7
i. One thing a believer cannot be careless about is prayer. (Phil. 4:6). Reasons for this development is to enjoy peace that is not quantifiable. V.7.
ii. “Everything” means “individuals” that sum up to “total”
iii. Everything you do or intend to do requires prayers. V.6.
iv. Prayer could comprise supplication, petition and thanksgiving.
v. Prayer and rejoicing go together. Those who pray end up rejoicing because the Lord is always at hand to give answers to their petitions. V.5.
vi. Prayer does not agree with worry. If you want to worry, don’t pray. The Apostles admonished believers to be careful for nothing i.e. to lay off our cares and worries on Him who cares for us, the Lord Jesus. Phil. 4:6; 1 Peter 5:7.
vii. The heart that is free from the burden of worry will definitely experience peace beyond description. Such heart cannot bow down in pain or tension (Phil. 4:7). Such heart and mind will rejoice t the slightest opportunity (Phil. 4:4). Therefore, the secret to free your heart from sorrow, pain and heavy load consists in praying. The same secret answers for why true believers rejoice in the Lord always. Phil. 4:4.
