TOPIC - Dead Seed 
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezra 1-2; John 19:23-42
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 8:5-8
MEMORY VERSE: “The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?” – Proverbs 21:27

The MESSAGE:
Seed represents a unit of life that can be reproduced in both plants and animals. For example, if a viable maize seed is planted in a good soil, it will germinate and grow to produce many more seeds that can increase harvest. However, not every seed is alive for a seed can be dead. One important lesson most of us still remember from secondary school biology are the attributes of life which include movement, reproduction, nutrition (feeding), irritability (response to stimulus), growth, excretion (removal of waste) and respiration. Similarly, if your seed is alive, it can do these and lots more for you.
Whereas a living seed stands as a memorial before God on behalf of the sower –moving miles to speak on his/her behalf, a dead seed goes nowhere. A dead seed being blind, deaf and dumb cannot cause replication of a man’s substance, cannot fight devourer or bring the favour of God that imparts true greatness, health, comfort or refreshing as Malachi 3:10 and 11 has promised those who sow living seeds to God. Although dead seeds yields no profit, no reward or blessing, many people, including believers unfortunately, are still labouring to sow them. Nevertheless, dead seed can buy bed but not sleep, it can marry a wife but no marriage, it can build a house but no comfort, it can buy food but no appetite or good health, it can take one to the best hospital in the world but no cure, it can put your children in choice schools but with unfulfilled destiny; dead seed is absolutely unprofitable.
The following are seed killers you must avoid: robbery, extortion, stealing or defrauding God or other humans of their substance or right; giving for showmanship; broadcasting your works of kindness for self-gratification; oppressing widow, orphan/fatherless, stranger, hired servant; being generous to others when your family is neglected; sowing in an unprofitable ground where God has not approved you should sow; grumbling or giving with an insincere heart. Dead seed is the wages of many kinds of ungodly trade people engage in like prostitution, kidnapping, trading in hemp and all kinds of drugs, child abuse and human trafficking/slavery, bribery, selling fake/expired food items and medicine or other damaging things for people to consume, etc. Secondly, the devil, through a person’s foundation, environment and other avenues can enter to attack and kill one’s seed. Therefore, add to your holy and godly lifestyle fervent and consistent praying to stop the hand of the devourer. Indeed, the power to keep a seed alive comes from God (Isaiah 55:10; James 1:17) and as you acknowledge this important fact in all humility and faith, the Lord will preserve your seed from destruction. So why not partner with God and be sensitive in your spirit for every seed you desire to cultivate. You will never sow in vain, in Jesus’ name.

  4. Occult personalities and witchcraft birds, assigned to tread down and devour my seed, die, in the name of Jesus.
  5. Power to sow little and reap great harvest, fall upon my seed, in the name of Jesus.
  6. Power to be divinely connected to good ground, fall upon my seed, in the name of Jesus.
  7. O God my Father, arise and cause my seed to prosper, in the name of Jesus.
