The bible tells us in Hebrews 5 that there comes a time we must separate from people around us in order to focus on the destiny ahead of us. 
“For every high priest taken from among men is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.”
 
God is monitoring everyone’s progress. Many people today are too common and too natural, and so God cannot give them assignments. God will separate you to do your assignment.  Some assignments are so special that you can’t discuss them with anybody. After Jesus had prayed all night, the Bible says out of the people following Him, He called twelve whom he named apostles that they might be with him that he might send them forth to preach and to cast out devils.
 
Every human being on earth has an assignment from heaven to fulfil, but if there is no separation in your life, God cannot give you assignments. God did not say you will rule in the midst of your friends, He said you will rule in the midst of your enemies because sometimes, your friends will not allow you to rule.  There is often an insertion of emotions or competition from some friends that impede your assignment. There must be separation in your life for God to give you assignments. 
 
 
PRAYER: Lord, show me the wrong people I need to separate from to arrive at my next level in life in Jesus’ name. Amen!
