MAY 23, 2019 LIVING WATER CAC DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE : TOPIC - NO COMPROMISE!

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. TOPIC - NO COMPROMISE!

READ: Jeremiah 35:1-15

[1]The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,[2]Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.[3]Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;[4]And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:[5]And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine.[6]But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:[7]Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.[8]Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;[9]Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:[10]But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.[11]But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.[12]Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,[13]Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.[14]The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father's commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.[15]I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.

MEMORISE: Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, ‘Will you not receive instruction to obey My words?’ Says the Lord (Jeremiah 35:13)

EXPOSITION
Compromise may be viewed in both positive and negative perspectives. When it is positively used, it refers to making, or allowing peace to reign by accepting to sheathe one’s sword during a dispute. Compromise is negative, however, when certain laid down standards, or rules, measures or regulations, are brought low to suit a lower purpose.

This happens almost daily in our economic, political, societal, family, and worse of all, Church settings. Every system seems to have been compromised and consequently, corruption and its attendant woeful results are not negotiable!
The faith which was delivered to the saints, is the same given to us. Christ, Who was the Centre and the pioneer of the Church is still (and should be) for the contemporary church. This underlies reason why we cannot compromise the laid down standard (Deut. 28:1; 2 Tim. 2:19). The world truly cries and dies of fake, adulterated, unwholesome and counterfeited products, due to compromised standards, but does the Church realise this is also bedeviling her?

As it is, the church of today tries diplomatically or modernly to deviate from the old time religion which was good, enough for our patriarchs of faith. The world system may seem good or a better idea but the fact remains, it does nothing to the Church of God, but adulteration and pollution, thereby watering down our songs, sermons, and prayers. (Jer. 10:1). There is no room for compromise, rather, we should earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints. (Titus 1:11-12).
Are you going to be a compromiser or conqueror?

PRAYER POINTS
1. Oh Lord, make me a conqueror, never a compromiser!
2. Lord, please draw me closer and nearer to You where I have digressed from following your will and Word.
3. Father, have mercy on Gospel musicians who have compromised their faith due to worldliness.
