The Oxford English Dictionary defines drive as an “innate biologically-determined urge to attain a goal or satisfy a need”. Drive is a force that is inside a man that kick-starts things for him. It is the trait of being highly motivated. There is a negative force in life that wants to hold us to a level that is low, to hold us to something that is negative and mediocre.
Adams’s sin had the effect of returning every human being back to zero in our flesh. That is why if you clear a bush and you don’t do anything, weeds will grow normally. Even when you plant something there, you have to constantly weed otherwise weeds will choke the life of the useful plant that you planted there.
There is a negative mechanism that came into the world from the fall of Adam that automatically returns everything to a negative state of being except if positive action is taken to counteract it. That is in nature itself, nature seems to be against positive virtues. The day that you decide to fast and pray that is the day that your body will crave for food terribly. When you make a decision to do something right, it looks like everybody around you receives an anointing from the devil against what you want to do.
It is this “drive” that makes you say you are going to do something and hook it with your decision in your will and keep driving until the goal is achieved. Sometimes, to start something good requires drive.
PRAYER: Lord I pray for a divine strengthening of my will to stay on the positive direction of life in Jesus’ name. Amen!
