TOPIC: DESTINY HELPERS
Read: Esther 2:1-20
MEMORISE: _Now therefore come, let me, I pray thee, give thee counsel, that thou mayest save thine own life, and the life of thy son Solomon_ (1 Kings 1:12)).
EXPOSITION
A destiny helper is someone who possesses what one needs to fulfil his/her destiny, and is ready and willing to release it to him/her, A destiny helper is also someone who knows the way to the top, and is willing to show the way to another person, irrespective of background, relations, culture, tribe, ethnic group, colour or race.
King David (1 Kgs 1:1ff) had previously made a vow to Bathsheba that her son, Solomon, would be next king after him, but Adonijah quickly took advantage of king David’s old age and, probably also, forgetfulness (due to his old age, too) to crown himself king with the help of some rebellious and irresponsible elder statesmen of the land.
However, Prophet Nathan heard the news and quickly summoned Bathsheba to the latest news and immediately also taught her what to do to savage her life and that of her son, Solomon, and also for Solomon to take charge of what rightly belongs to him *1 Kgs 1:11-14),* Nathan the Prophet did not just counsel Bathsheba on what to do, he also made sure he gave his full support to the fulfilment of Solomon’s destiny. Now that’s a true destiny helper. At the end of the day, Adonijah was disgraced out while Solomon was enthroned as destined. Dear devout, people like Nathan are needed in our daily lives, for the fulfilment of our destinies. Helpers who will not fold their hands and allow evil befall you. _Those_ who would do everything possible to ensure you get to the top and fulfil your destiny.
Mordecai was also Esther’s destiny helper. The day Esther was adopted by Mordecai, after the death of her parents, little did Esther know that she had just landed in the hands of her destiny helper. Mordecai kept instructing her as to what to do step-by-step (Est 2:10, 20), till he ensured her success. Not only that, Mordecai was always checking up on Esther on a daily basis to know how she was fairing, just to make sure she succeeds at last (2:11). Destiny helpers do not place undue conditions before they help. May God give us people for our lives and destinies. Amen.
PRAYER POINTS
*1.* Lord, connect me with my destiny helpers.
*2.* Lord, raise people to fight for my interest at all times and even behind me in Jesus’ name.
*3.* Lord, remove every blockage that has been preventing my connection with my destiny helpers, in Jesus’ name.
