TOPIC - JOURNEYING THROUGH THE JUNGLES
Read: Genesis 41:1-46
MEMORISE: Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt (Genesis 41:46).
EXPOSITION
A student who gets admission into the university definitely knows he will graduate someday. A vocational trainee would surely know a day of freedom comes. However, sometimes, struggles of life seem endless. The journeys sometimes appear to be without definite end. So, it was for the Israelites in the wilderness. Their wandering was as if there was so terminal point, but those who believed God, who was them through thick and thin of long servitude in Egypt, witnessed the end of their wilderness experience. As for those who were faithless and rebellious, they died unnatural death in the jungles.
Joseph, the dreamer remains a classic example. He began to face life’s uncertainties and family hostilities right from his innocent and tender age. From there, he was sold into slavery to begin an endless life of servitude, hunger, desertion and oblivion. From one trafficker to another more terrible one, he ended up in Potiphar’s house. Temptations, blackmail and eventual unfair incarceration all greeted him. His tough and rough journey in the jungles of life eventually came to an end when he was lifted from prison to palace.
What are your present experiences, probably making you to want to quit the faith. Or bow to the advances of the devil or the counsels of the ungodly? God is coming to you now: You are not forgotten in your jungles. You will surely be victorious and sing the song of Moses. Just be sure you are centred at His will all the time (Psa. 37:1ff). Stay lifted, in Jesus’ name.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Oh Lord, I refuse to fumble in my journey through the jungles of life. Help my resolve.
2. Lord, let the experience in the jungles of life never bow my head down against Your will, in Jesus’ name.
3. Pray for as many as you can remember of brethren who are passing through hard times, that God should bail them out, timely.
