TOPIC: DEEDS THAT GOD WON’T FORGET
Read: Philippians 4:14-19
MEMORISE:
For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister (Hebrews 6:10).
EXPOSITION
It is evident that man acts in accordance with his beliefs and convictions. Whether he is aware of it or not, his fellow men and, more importantly, his Creator, God, the righteous Judge and Rewarder of all actions, are noticing his actions. Nothing goes out of His attention.
Apostle Paul did not forget the good works of the Philippian Church. He commended them. Many people in the Bible did certain things that attracted God’s special attention, and He did not forget them. For instance, Zerubbabel, Ezra and Nehemiah led the exile to rebuild the temple, work on the spiritual life of the returnees, to build the walls, and to restore proper worship of YAHWEH, respectively. God never forgot the actions of Ruth to Naomi. Also the generosity of David towards the building of the temple even when God disallowed him from spearheading the building project, was recognised by God. Another deed that never went unnoticed, was the demolition of the idols being worshipped by the people, by Hezekiah, during his reign.
The Living Water today is passing across the message, “For your actions to be remembered by God and people around you, you will not only analyse, scrutinize and talk about the problems around you, but you will contribute immensely to solving them.” Instead of complaining about problems, take actions that would help alleviate them. Use your talents, office, property, power and influence to get things done for God and the benefits of others, to the glory of God. Encourage yourself and be determined. Then you will be remembered for good.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Father, please, open my understanding to the needs around me and make me the solution to them.
2. Lord, I receive the grace to fulfil what you destined me for in the life of people around me.
3. Lord, help our religious and political leaders to fulfil their God-given task on their followers.
