TOPIC: YOUR PASSPORT AND VISA
Read: Hebrews 12:1-17
MEMORISE: _Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord_ (Hebrews 12:14).
EXPOSITION
The craving to jet out of the country to perceived greener pastures keeps soaring because of irresponsible and non-responsive governance and the mad desire to go out for imagined opportunities. Assume in a moment: authorities of US and Europe open unlimited means to all immigrants into their countries. Despite this, your visa and passport still remain valid documents to take you to your choice country. In short, without presenting a valid passport and visa at the embassy, you can simply forget about travelling out.
The matter of travelling overseas goes beyond having money to prosecute your travelling expenses. Very many people have more than required funds, but could not achieve their aim due to non-possession of valid passport and corresponding visa. The same thing is applicable to every child of God. Your passport and visa are simply holiness to the Lord and peace with Him and others, respectively. It is no gainsaying that whoever is aspiring to gain entry into the Heavenly kingdom but fails to live a holy life and live in Christ’s peace with all, is only playing to the gallery.
God’s nature is holiness and He requires no less from men (1 Pet. 1:15). Heaven is, therefore, holy place since God dwells there. No unholy thing will enter there-in. Passport without visa or visa without passport is incomplete and not sufficient to travel. Therefore, aside living holy life, you must live peaceably with all men. In fact, it is expedient that you seek and follow peace with all men (Rom. 12:18).* don’t say you are holy and you become enemy of all. Jesus lived a holy life and followed peace with all men. We cannot be less, if we want to be where He is now (Jn. 14:3).
Receive the provided grace to accomplish this today and always. Amen.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Oh Lord, assist me in all my endeavours never to lose my passport and visa to Heaven.
2. Holy Spirit, fill me with the Spirit of holiness to You and peace with all, in all I do.
3. Lord, restore lasting peace among the warring factions in Christian churches and denominations all over the world.
