Then (Mephibosheth) bowed himself, and said, "What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I?"

You know you lack confidence when you're always looking for a reason why you can't try something new. You must refuse to act upon your solutions to problems. You search for a committee of people to confirm what you think God wants you to do. You complain about everything, because complaining keeps you from closely examining yourself. When success does not come quickly, you are quick to toss the towel.
If any of these descriptions fit you, it's time to turn your life around. Here's a simple lesson for you: God provides worms for birds, but He doesn't throw them down their throats. You must take the initiative. If you study the lives of the people in the Word of God, God took them through difficulties before He brought them into the rewards of His kingdom. Notice that you take the action, and then God reacts to what you do. In life, you win some and you lose some. Through it all God is trying to develop your character.
