Encouragement For Today June 21, 2018 : From the Bible - 1 Peter 5:8

--> Note :- Are you born again? You are never going to win the battle against the devil if you are not born again. I plead with you to give your life to Jesus today because the longer you stay in sin and remain unsaved, the more hardened your nature becomes against the purpose and the way God wants you to be for His purpose. To give your life to Jesus now, say this prayer: “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself but Jesus died for me and shed His blood that I might be saved. Today, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord, wash me with Your blood and make me whole. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.” I congratulate you and welcome you to the family of God if you have sincerely said that prayer. Now you are fit to discover, know and walk in your destiny. Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
Know Your Enemy

Part Two—
The names of Satan reflecting his character:
1. Satan (Zechariah 3:1; Revelation 12:9).  This title is used fiftytwo times in the Scripture.  It means adversary or opposer and it designates Satan as the selfproposed rival of God, whose purpose is to accuse and deceive the righteous to participate in his counterfeit kingdom.
2. Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12).  This title refers to Satan in his original state, as a shining one.  Satan entered the Garden of Eden as “the shining one” who enticed Eve to rebel against the clearly spoken Word of God.
3. Old Serpent (Revelation 12:9).  John calls Satan “that old serpent” because he had been around since the Garden of Eden.  Paul called Satan a serpent in 2 Corinthians 11:3, saying, “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4. Devil (Luke 4:2, 13; Revelation 12:9).  The Greek word “diabolos” means slanderer or one who trips up.  This title pictures Satan as one whose malicious, false reports injure the reputation of another person.
5. The Great Dragon (Revelation 12:3,7,9).  Satan is portrayed as a “great red dragon” whose terrifying purpose is to utterly destroy the purposes of God on earth and all men who follow God.
6. The Evil One (John 17:15; 1 John 5:18).  Satan is identified by Jesus and the apostle John as one who is absolutely wicked and who seeks to make all men equally wicked.
7. The Destroyer (Revelation 9:11).  The text describes locustlike demons who have “a king over them” whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in the Greek, Apollyon.  Both names mean “destroyer.”  Never forget it…Satan’s objective is to destroy you, heart, soul, mind and body.
